Breast Augmentation Connecticut (Augmentation Mammoplasty)

Breast Augmentation Overview

Connecticut Breast Enlargement (augmentation mammoplasty) creates larger breasts through the placement of breast implants behind your existing breast tissue or chest muscles. There are many reasons for having breast augmentation in Connecticut. Perhaps you feel that your breasts are too small; your breasts may have lost volume or their youthful shape after pregnancy; or your breasts may be different sizes and you'd like them to be more symmetrical.

Since the early 1960's, more than two million women in the United States have chosen to receive breast implants, each motivated by very personal goals for enhancing their figure. The popularity of Connecticut breast enlargement is predominately due to the new types of implants that are now available. Board Certified Connecticut Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Singer will discuss the different breast implants and incision sites with you in his Connecticut office to determine the choice that is most appropriate for you.

Breast Enlargement may also give a more youthful appearance to your breasts. But the Connecticut Breast Enlargement procedure is not designed to correct the appearance of an enlarged dark area around the nipple (areola); or exceptional sagging or highly irregular shapes. Other breast enhancement surgeries, most commonly breast lift surgery, are often performed with breast enlargement to produce the best results at our Westport, Connecticut, medical offices.

Most techniques of breast augmentation either are sub mammary or if they are sub-muscular only involve the pectoralis muscles to cover the upper portion of the implant. Connecticut plastic surgeon, Dr. Singer uses a "total sub-muscular " approach whereupon the entire implant is surrounded by muscle . The pocket for the implant is created by splitting the muscle without cutting any muscle fibres, and elevating the pectoralis as well as the lower chest muscles. The implant is placed in this space and the muscle is allowed to close over the implant without any suturing. The result is more natural, less likely to have rippling, faster recovery less post-op discomfort, and better support for the implant.
